EXERCISE TV - Free Full Length Workouts Online

Besides DVDs there are other great resources for a quality workout at home. One of my personal favorites is EXERCISE TV. The cable channel also features On Demand access which allows users to play their top workouts at their convenience. What really makes EXERCISE TV incredible is that you don’t even have to have cable to enjoy their extensive list of trainers and routines. They have a website that anyone can go to which features free full length workout videos. It’s a great way to sneak in a quick workout while online. I have work stacked up to my eyeballs literally this week. So, I’ll be using this website to help keep my fitness goal of exercising a minimum of 20-30 minutes each day.

This morning I did the Dance Party free full length workout with trainer Ilyse Baker. The workout starts out slow but by midway I was sweating. Ilyse has a very upbeat energetic personality that grows on you. The routine itself isn’t that great of a dance. I wouldn’t try any of the moves out on the dance floor quite yet however they are fun to do. She combines simple side steps with more exaggerated hip hop inspired moves like the booty bump and hand slide. It definitely woke me up. Finding ways to make fitness part of your life is important in achieving your weight loss goals. When short on time or extremely busy take a 20 minute break to do something good for yourself like a mini-workout. If you’d like to try Dance Party or browse through any of the hundreds of other workouts on the site check out the link below.

Pussycat Dolls Workout - Fun Sexy Way to Tone-Up for the New Year

Robin Antin's Pussycat Dolls Workout DVD is a sexy fresh routine combines choreographed hip hop burlesque-style dance with simple toning movements. The Pussycat Dolls Workout isn't a hardcore routine. It's a condensed cardio workout designed to help build self-confidence and burn off those extra holiday calories. Users get to dance like a real Pussycat Doll performing steps to some of their hit songs including 'Buttons' and 'Don't Cha.' The workout reminded me of Carmen Electra's striptease video series. Similar to other dance workouts the Pussycat Dolls Workout is fun. It's a great exercise video to start off your New Year right fit.

Yoga DVD Update:

Yin Yoga with Paul Grilley

By Richard Rosen

Pranamaya; www.pranamaya.com; 5 1/2 hours.

Twenty-some years ago at the Iyengar Yoga Institute in San Francisco, my classmates and I were subjected to a practice called "timed forward bends"—each of the poses in the sequence was held passively for somewhere between 10 minutes and an eon. Paul Grilley systematized this timed, passive-holding approach as Yin Yoga, which, he says, is a complement to the more active, huff-and-puff yoga styles favored in the West. The two DVDs in this package include a lecture on Yin theory, an accompanying practicum, and three hourlong Yin sequences.

Since Yin students spend five minutes or more in a pose, a Yin instructor needs a good shtick to keep everyone interested and in place. Grilley is an intelligent and empathic teacher and a congenial raconteur, both educator and entertainer. His technique can potentially help increase flexibility and self-acceptance, not only in your asana practice but in your daily life. And this is a great resource for learning it.

Calling all Yogis …. September 2, 2008 Paul Grilley will be releasing his Yin Yoga DVD. This video is over 300 minutes of yoga and wisdom from guru Paul Grilley.

Pure Barre: Ballet, Dance & Pilates Fusion (2007)

EVD Review: (5 out of 5 stars)

The Pure Barre Technique (PBT) is the fastest, yet safest way to change your body. PBT fuses dance, Pilates and Lotte Berk exercises while utilizing the ballet barre to create the most intense and effective 55-minute workout that exists. The results of PBT are: flat abs, thin thighs, a lifted seat, toned arms and sculpted backs. PBT is an intelligent exercise technique - each strengthening section of the workout is followed by a stretching section in order to create strong, long, lean muscle without the bulk, while increasing range of motion. PBT will not only quickly transform your body, it will clear your mind, help you focus and contribute to a happy and healthy life. All you have to do is this DVD 3 times per week and your body will change - it is that simple.

This is an advanced workout. I absolutely love to add new innovative workout to my routine. It keeps you from getting bored. This is a fantastic workout with toning in a bellet like form. The stretching section is heavenly. I recommend this workout for anyone wanting to lengthen and tone (PBT Style).

Released May 6, 2008.

The FIRM is one of those “gym quality” workout series that every at-home exerciser should own. I personally, have 10 Firm workouts in my collection. The toning and flow of Cardio Overdrive is excellent. This DVD will give you results fast if you stick to it. Whenever I feel like I’ve been slacking a bit on my intensity of workouts I like to do a FIRM video to get back into the “Warrior Goddess” mindset and push it up a notch.
